Bali is known as an island with a thousand temples. It is easy to find a temple ceremony everywhere at anytime. One of the ceremonies is called odalan. Odalan is a celebration of the day when the temple was built. Since Bali calendar occur in 210 days and Bali has lots of temple, no wonder if you will findodalanduring your visit in Bali.
Some odalan ceremonies are short, lasting from 1 to 3 days only, while others can last for up to a month. After the main religious ceremony (praying) is finished, odalan becomes more a social occassion with dance,gamelan, drama, comedy and shadow puppet plays.
Pura Agung Gunung Raung locates in Taro village, Tegallalang, about 25 km from Ubud heading North.
