The annual Bali Vegan Festival is back! With a lineup led by renowned Cowspiracy/What the Health filmmaker and environmentalist Kip Andersen and a huge range of activities for adults and children, the festival promises to be a fun-filled, educational and delicious event for vegans and omnivores alike.
Kip is joined by a range of influential speakers and experts, including May I Be FrankFerrante, a former NYC taxi driver and reformed overweight drug addict; FullyRaw Kristina,founder of Rawfully Organic and a social media superstar; the ever-inspirational James Aspey who undertook a 1-year vow of silence to raise awareness for animals and continues to enlighten around the world; Dr. Susianto Tseng President of the International Vegetarian Union and all-round vegan expert and accomplished author.
Dr. Andr�a Paige also joins the line-up, as a speaker and teacher with her workshops on healing and dynamic morning yoga classes.Liat Solomon, founder of Down To Earth Bali and a trained macrobiotic chef will host a workshop on Home Remedy Secrets and give a talk on Food & Emotions an in depth look at how what we put in our bodies affects our mind and mental state.Suzanne Miles, food researcher and author of Fork It will give a talk titled Fork It: Keys to Amazing Health.
Janette Murray-Wakelin & Alan Murray from Raw Vegan Path will share their inspirational story of setting a new World Record as the only couple over the age of 60 fuelled entirely on raw fruit and veg, wearing barefoot shoes, to run 366 consecutive marathons around Australia. Leading a workshop and talk on vegan desserts is 15-year-old entrepreneur Arielle Chenarra, creator of Thyme & Caramel, a gluten-free and hand-crafted vegan buttercream cakery in Bali. Ketut Susila, a plant-based Balinese Mangku (Priest)will be giving a talk on Offering without Sacrifice, delving into how he educates and helps spread his message of compassion.
In addition to the speakers; food workshops, daily Qi Gong, life coaching sessions, Ayurveda, Reiki and more will be on offer at the festival, as well as a host of childrens activities and film screenings at Paradiso, the Worlds First Organic Vegan Cinema.
New Venue Announcement!
The Vegan Village, located on the soccer field at the intersection of Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Dewi Sita will be FREE ACCESS and play host to the majority of the market stall vendors, including vegan clothing, food and beauty brands from across Bali and Indonesia. The space will also feature free community yoga, ecstatic dance, concerts and more!
Taksu Spa, located just 50 metres away from Paradiso will adopt a fully vegan menu over the weekend, showcasing its award winning raw food and vegan cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy workshops and yoga classes, while members of the internationally trained and accredited Taksu Spa team will present a series of fun demonstrations making your own vegan body scrub. A tour of Taksus living gardens will also be on offer, as most of the fresh greens used in Taksus two healthy eating restaurants are grown on the premises, in the beautiful aquaponic and hydroponic gardens that caress the venues celebrated open air Garden Cafe.
Paradiso Ubud will remain the epicenter of the festival, with the extensive space hosting the talks and film screenings, as well as a comedy show, daily yoga classes and discussion panels. Paradiso is located just off Jalan Hanoman, and adjacent to Balis original organic plant-based eatery Earth Caf�, with customers able to order anything from the extensive menu while relaxing on a variety of comfortable seating options. The ethos of Paradiso mirrors that of the festival -striving to be a truly sustainable business that puts the community and environment over profits and aims to educate and inform about genuinely important issues.
The festival will take place from October 6th-8th 2017.
